Book a driver or warehouse cover

Five things get a booking moving: the class or role, how many, the dates, the shift times and the site postcode. Everything else sharpens the match.

The booking

What happens nextWe come back with what we can actually cover and what we cannot. Same-day where availability allows; next day is the realistic standard.

Sending this form is a request for cover, not a confirmed booking. Nothing is confirmed until we have come back to you with availability and a written charge rate for that specific shift. What you send here is used to answer your enquiry and nothing else — see the privacy policy.

What happens next

From request to confirmed

  • The request lands with a reference. Every timesheet and invoice line for this booking hangs off that reference from here on.
  • We come back with what we can genuinely cover and with the charge rate in writing. Where we cannot cover it, you get that answer too and you get it quickly enough to do something about it.
  • The worker is named to you before the shift, with licence, card and right-to-work checks already completed.
  • The site brief goes to the worker in writing — start time, address, gate contact, vehicle and what the run looks like.

Workers are sourced against your specific booking rather than pulled from a standing list, then checked and confirmed to you by name before the shift. Matching the person to the seat is what makes cover actually hold. Where we cannot cover a shift we say so rather than confirming it and failing you on the morning.

Detail that helps

What sharpens the match

None of this holds a booking up, but every line of it makes the person who turns up more likely to be the right one.

The vehicle

Unit and trailer type, manual or automatic, curtain, box, tail-lift or fridge. A driver who has never worked a tail-lift on a home delivery round will struggle on one.

The run

Trunk, tramping, store deliveries, multi-drop, containers. Drop count if the route is drop-heavy and whether there is handball.

The site

Gate contact and where to report, parking, whether there is an induction and how long the induction takes on the first morning.

Kit and clearances

PPE you provide and PPE the worker must bring, any site passport and whether a basic DBS check is required for the work.

Ongoing or one-off

If it is a rolling assignment, say so at the start — that is what lets us count the twelve-week Agency Workers Regulations clock properly from day one.

Purchase order

If your accounts payable needs a PO on the invoice, give it to us with the booking rather than at the point the invoice is queried.

Before you send it

How much notice do you need?

As much as you have. Same-day cover is possible where availability allows and next day is the realistic standard, but a booking placed at 16:00 the day before is filled far more reliably than one placed at 05:30.

Will you quote a rate on the phone?

We will give you a rate for the specific booking, in writing, before anyone is confirmed. We will not quote a generic figure that ignores the class, the region, the shift pattern and the notice, because that figure would be wrong more often than it was right.

Can I book several shifts at once?

Yes. Say so in the notes and we will treat it as one assignment rather than a series of separate bookings, which matters for both the site brief and the twelve-week Agency Workers Regulations count.

What if I need to cancel?

Tell us as early as you can. Cancellation terms sit in the terms of business rather than on this page, because they are commercial terms that have to be agreed rather than announced.
