Register for agency shifts
Tell us what you hold and where you can get to. We come back with what your entitlements actually open up and what would change that.
Tell us what you hold
Registering does not commit you to anything and it never costs you anything. What you send here is used to match you to work and to run the checks below — see the privacy policy for how long it is kept and how to have it deleted.
What happens next
- We come back to confirm what you hold and what work it opens up. If nothing available matches your entitlements right now, you get told that rather than left on a list.
- Before you agree terms with us you get a Key Information Document. It is a legal requirement, it is a standalone document and it shows the pay rate, the pay intervals, every deduction and a worked example of take-home pay.
- Documents are checked before your first shift. Licence check code, Driver CPC card, digital tacho card, any forklift or specialist certificates and right to work.
- Two work-related references are taken.
- Once you are on the books, licence entitlements are re-checked every 90 days and card expiries are tracked and flagged before they lapse.
The document checklist is on the drivers page and the standard we check against is on compliance and vetting.
About the licence categories on this form
The dropdown asks for your highest category because it is the fastest way to route you, not because the rest do not matter. C1 held by grandfather rights before 1997 is a real and common case and whether Driver CPC is required for the work you would be doing on it is a question we would rather settle at registration than on a gate at 06:00. Put it in the notes and we will check it properly.
The same applies to anything on your record. Points, a past disqualification or a period out of the industry are not automatic exclusions — a licence check will show them anyway and telling us first is always the better version of that conversation.
Questions about registering
Do I need a CV?
No. A CV helps, particularly for transport office and specialist work, but the form asks for what actually decides eligibility. If you have one, email it to hello@transporttemps.co.uk with your name in the subject line.
What if my Driver CPC has expired?
Tell us on the form. You cannot drive a lorry professionally without it and driving professionally without Driver CPC can carry a fine of up to £1,000, so it is not something we can work around. It is kept current by 35 hours of periodic training every five years and warehouse and drivers' mate work stays open in the meantime.
Can I register for warehouse work with no driving licence?
Yes. Select the warehouse-only option in the licence dropdown. Right-to-work checks and references still apply. Any equipment tickets you hold still need to be genuine and accredited.
Do you take drivers who are new to agency work?
Yes, provided the entitlements and references stand up. Being new to agency work is different from being new to the vehicle and the second one is the harder conversation on a Class 1 booking.
How long does registration take?
The form takes a few minutes. The part that takes real time is the checks — a licence check code, a right-to-work check and two references that actually answer. Getting your referees to expect the call is the single best thing you can do to speed it up.
